Marc Caloren studied Industrial Design at Carleton University in Ottawa. He was awarded the Dr. William Charles Mohr scholarship and won an international competition for an internship position at Philips Bedrijven’s Corporate Industrial Design Centre in the Netherlands. There Marc worked in the Professional & Medical Equipment group, an area which became a focus of his interest and expertise.
From 1987 to 1991 Marc served as Manager of Design for Canada Post’s
Retail Development group, in charge of: standards and specifications for
floorplan and point of sales integration into host businesses; knock-down
furniture design and fabrication; corporate identity and signage;
program implementation and vendor management.
After moving to Vancouver, Marc founded M3D in 1992 and quickly established
himself as a leading design consultant to local, national and US clients.
Marc has taught “Design for Public Spaces,” an advanced 3rd year course
at Emily Carr University of Art & Design. He is a certified Application Engineer
and Value Added Reseller for Ashlar Vellum CAD software in Canada.
